Avantura linije is a limited edition book by Nedeljko Dragić, Croatian master animator best known for his work as part of the Zagreb school of animation in the 1970’s. The book contains every single hand-drawn frame from a short animated film Dragić created for the opening of Animafest in 2002. The soft cover makes it possible to peruse the publication as a flip-book. The fat red type is ALusine, a wonderful free script from the Smeltery. Published by the Croatian Film Clubs’ Association, 2011. Foreword by Nenad Polimac.
In 1981 Yugoslav film critic Ranko Munitić wrote a book on the life, work and philosophy of Ivan Martinac, based on a series of interviews with the avant-garde filmmaker and poet from Split. After 30 years, during which both Munitić and Martinac passed away, his manuscript is finally available in book format. Published by the Croatian Film Association, the edition includes a dvd with Fokus, a short b/w film on the subject of “the most beautiful death of them all — the death in the Mediterranean sun”, directed by Martinac in 1967.
